Open disclosure, open source information

Wikihospitals was inspired by Wikileaks the whistleblowing site and Wikipedia the open source encyclopedia. The philosophy behind Wikihospitals is the need to introduce transparency and accountability into hospitals and health care services. Wikihospitals believes that government departments and mainstream organizations are failing to help people find the safest, most effective and lowest cost health care services. Wikihospitals believes this is due to financial conflict of interests between health organizations and their financial backers, lobbying by powerful groups to block investigations into patients complaints of poor services and the power of multinational corporations and their army of lobbyists to bully governments into making poor decisions about health funding. Wikihospitals supports investigative reporting, social media and whistleblowing in order to bring about reform of the health industry. If you find these philosophies offensive in any way, please do not continue reading this blog.
